Female Hormone Profile
Estrogen hormones are powerful molecules which play a major role in female sexual development, and in the skeletal, cardiovascular and nervous system. An estrogen deficiency results in symptoms including hot flushes, irregular menstruation, mood changes and vaginal dryness. In contrast, high levels of estrogen may be associated with migraines, breast tenderness, heavy menstrual periods, water retention and hormone related cancers such as endometrial, prostate and breast cancer.
Estrogen testing can help determine the specific levels of each estrogen which will help to prevent estrogen deficiency or excess, ensure an optimal balance of the stimulatory versus the protective estrogens, and provide to individualise hormone therapy.
Male Hormone Profile
The aging male experiences a decrease in testosterone at a rate of 10% per decade from the age of 30.
